About Us.
Inspired by my son James McGreevy, the KRDA has the principal objective of providing children between the age of 5 and 16 years from resource poor and disadvantaged backgrounds in Kibera Slums with opportunities to access, train and participate in the game of rugby, through mini tag and rugby training.
The programme gives the children from the Kibera some of the life skills that will give them a track out of poverty. It also develops young rugby talent in Kenya.
Our Programs
Sunday Rugby
The KRDA Ambassador Network will help us reach the goal of expanding to 10 Sunday Rugby Development camps, focused at children living in the Kibera slums in Nairobi by the year 2020. One Sunday Rugby Development camp with 250 children is being run at Hillcrest International School, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Sunday Rugby Programme currently has 250 boys & girls who have the freedom of open space, the green grass, positive “coach” role models, nutritious food, plenty of clean water to drink, the joy of exchanging rags for rugby kits and much more.
This small gifts gives the children a bus ride from from Kibera, hot nutritious lunch, coaching costs, medical costs, training equipment, showers to wash and much more. Below is what it costs for 1 child to attend the Sunday Rugby Development Programme.

Build a Bus
Every week, Kings Rugby Development Academy transports hundreds of children to and from the Kibera for the Sunday KRDA Rugby Development Programme, currently being hosted at Hillcrest International School in Nairobi, Kenya. At the moment we hire local buses at a significant expense. This literally brings the children out of the Kibera, which is our long term goal. They get a taste of better life, gain inspiration and most importantly a hope that things can change.Through “Build A Bus” Project, we will save costs and acquire an income generating asset. We intend to deploy these buses in the week to generate income. All profits will be invested in the Sunday Rugby Programme.Being part of the “Build A Bus” Project, you will keep enriching the children’s lives. The wheels will keep the programme running.
