Etemesi has previously played for the Kenya National Rugby team, Bamburi Super-Series, Kenya Cup and Homeboyz RFC. He is an accomplished lawyer and aspires to consolidate skills and experience in rugby, research, academia, advocacy, analysis and application of law for a better society.

He attained World Rugby Level 1 Coaching and Match Officiating certification in 2017. He has been a coach with KRDA since to date.
